On behalf of the African chess community, the Board of the African Chess Confederation wishes to express sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Abdalla Khaled Elnami, the Libyan Chess Federation and the entire Libyan chess fraternity on his untimely death.
Mr. Khaled Elnami who was former President of the Libyan Chess Federation and also former President of Zone 4.1 of the World Chess Federation (FIDE) passed away aged of 58.
He was a committed chess administrator who had been an International Arbiter since 1986 and he had also served as Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Arab Chess Federation.
As a father of six chess players, he was one of the most active chess organizers in Libya.
Mr. Khaled Elnami was a very friendly colleague who always had time to share views on chess development with others.
Three of his children have also previously won the Libyan Youth Championships.
The board of the African Chess Confederation expresses its prayers and support to the family of our late colleague and the Libyan chess community.
